Now It's Your Turn (NIYT) is a not-for-profit foundation that provides a platform for its members to get involved in various community service events. We strive to bring together a unified team of volunteers to address the many needs of the community. Our organization is looking for dedicated volunteers to join us now.
What makes the NIYT Member Experience Different?
- Members are given an avenue to participate in a variety of volunteer services enabling members to have a more diverse and fulfilling experience (from serving in soup kitchens to building homes to assisting in disaster relief, etc).
- Unique volunteer opportunities are provided on a regular monthly basis.
- We bring the volunteer experience to you. NIYT handles all setup, scheduling and planning of the volunteer events then contacts members directly; so members can focus time and energy where it counts most, volunteering!
- Team Concept/Building Strong Relationships - we feel as a team we are more effective at combating the many of needs the community. By bringing together people from all walks of life with a unified goal in mind, we build strong networks to build stronger communities.
- Making your ideas for change a reality. NIYT can provide you with the resources and network of individuals to help your vision for change become a reality, by giving each member a voice and direct input in the process of identifying needs in the tri-state.

What types of volunteer activities are currently offered?
- NIYT participates in a wide range of volunteer services. Which include but are not limited to:
- Building homes for the needy
- Assisting in disaster relief
- Providing gifts for under privileged children
- Serving the mentally ill
- Spending time with elderly at nursing homes
- Supporting and serving food at local pantries and soup kitchens
- Park Restoration
- Mentoring Programs
- Midnight Runs
- Various Other Events

What other Activities do NIYT members participate in?
- Members engage in other NIYT sponsored volunteer activities including the annual coat drive, food drive, blood drive, NIYT Day of Service, etc.
- Participate in exciting fundraising events such as gala's, bowl-a-thons, softball, basketball tournaments, professional sports outings, concerts and many more.
What are some of the skills learned and benefits for volunteers?
- Acquire new skills such as CPR certification, disaster education, etc.
- Meet new people and create strong social networks.
- Step into leadership roles by managing individual volunteer teams and events.
How often and where are your volunteer activities?
- NIYT hosts volunteer events monthly, in addition various drives, fundraising events and the NIYT Day of Service are held throughout the year.
Who are NIYT members?
- NIYT members are a diverse group of individuals throughout the Tri-state area. Member's range from high school students, college students, to young professionals, married couples, and retirees. Current members bring varied experiences and skills and are from all walks of life from students, housewives, lawyers, doctors, retail sales, accountants, teachers, engineers, etc. Our people are our greatest asset.
How does the volunteering process work?
- You sign up for NIYT membership (via on-line application or mail).
- We contact you each month with the details of the volunteer activities for the following month.
- You decide whether the offered volunteering activity meets your interests for the month.
- You express your interest to volunteer by signing up through our website, email, or phone.
- NIYT's Volunteer Coordinator will contact you and confirm your attendance.
